Prefect Profile - Sophie, Nightingale 2
Name: Sophie Tanner
Role: Head Prefect
Subjects Studied: History, Politics, English Literature and Psychology.
Favourite Book: My all-time favourite book has to be Catching Fire from the Hunger Games series, but recently I have enjoyed reading Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Favourite Film: My comfort film will always be Tangled!
Hobbies: My passion is music, and I’ve loved being a part of the music department since Year 7. I play the bassoon (an instrument not many people know of at first!) in two orchestras, and enjoy singing too.
Favourite Food: Any type of pasta!
Favourite Holiday destination: I love going to France with my family. Paris is definitely my favourite city; the galleries and architecture are incredible.
What is the most challenging thing you have achieved so far?
I took part in the Cambridge University International Model United Nations conference earlier this year; it was very nerve-wracking as I had been involved in Model United Nations before, and students had flown in from all over the world to take part! But I challenged myself to present a resolution in front of our committee, and was awarded best delegate, which I’m extremely proud of.
Why did you want to become a Prefect?
I knew that as a prefect I would have the chance to introduce positive changes for all the students at Invicta, which was really important to me. I also really wanted the chance to be a friendly face for people to come to with any problems, just like previous Senior Prefects have been during my time here.
What are your plans when you leave Invicta?
I am planning to study History and Politics at university, and will see where that takes me in the future!
And, finally, what special memories do you have of your time, so far, at Invicta?
My time at Invicta has been full of fun moments, in amongst all the homework! School concert days with my friends in the music department have always been a highlight of the term for me, and I have very fond memories of RAG shows over the years.
