The Maidstone Schools Athletics Finals took place on Tuesday, 18 June, and I am delighted to report on the outstanding performances and results from our students. After weeks of dedicated training and competitive events, our athletes demonstrated remarkable talent and sportsmanship during the finals.
These results reflect the commitment and effort put in by all our athletes. Congratulations to our winners and all participants for their outstanding performances and for representing our school with pride and determination. A special thanks to the PE department who have taken an supported our athletes over the last few weeks. We look forward to building on these successes in future athletics events. Well done to everyone involved!
Athletes of the Match:
Elizabeth, 7I – Secured victory in the 200m race with an impressive performance, with a 20m gap to second place.
Rosa, 8A – Dominated the 1500m event, finishing first with great stamina and speed winning by over 100m.
Olivia, 9I – Clinched first place in the 300m race, showcasing her endurance with a strong sprint finish.
Rose, 10A – Won the 1500m race with a strong and steady pace.
Nifemi, 10N – Triumphed in the 100m sprint, demonstrating exceptional speed from the blocks.
Overall Results:
Year 7: Our Year 7 team won the event by several points, a testament to their hard work and coordination. All athletes finished in the top 3 in every single event.
Years 8, 9, and 10: Each of these year groups finished as runners-up in their respective categories, a commendable achievement that highlights their dedication and competitive spirit.
