Charity and House Update - November 2022
Mrs Le Sbirel sent this report:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your fantastic support of Houses and Charities so far this year. So far this year we have raised £5915.14 for charity. We had a few late donations to the Macmillan Coffee morning so the final total was an amazing £3307.50 (I’m not sure where the 50p came from!). I am sure Macmillan will be delighted with this amount.
29 students entered the Macmillan House Cake Competition and 360 students and staff voted for their favourite. Well done to Maisie in Austen who won first prize. The Maths House Challenge was won by Colvin this year, well done to all of you. The Charity POP group did a sweet sale last term which raised £162. This money will be split between Slideaway and Mindout.
The 8 Houses compete for three House Shields and the battle for the House Points Shield is very close. Roddick are in the lead at the moment with Frank in second place and Austen in third place. Nightingale have some work to do. Every point counts so please keep earning House Points and entering House Competitions. 9237 House Points have been awarded so far this year in ClassCharts which is fantastic.
Just a reminder our first RAG non-uniform day will take place on Thursday, 24 November. All the money from the RAG non-uniform days and the RAG events planned for December will be split between the 5 RAG charities, which this year are Therapy Partners, Oasis Domestic Abuse, Books 2 Africa, Maidstone Mencap and Jack the Lad. More information about all of their wonderful work can be found below.
