VIAT Science Fair
Mrs Hollett sent this report:
On Monday, 9 May, Year 8 students representing 15 different projects competed against 15 projects from SST in the Trust Wide Science Fair. Students presented their projects to each other and to a team of judges – all trying to win the title Best In Trust and the trophy for their school.
This year we were lucky to open the primary school division of the Science Fair. This year brought East Borough and Leybourne Chase to SST to battle it out for the Best in Trust Primary Science Fair.
The students enjoyed the day exploring all the other projects and showing off what they have learnt. They also had the opportunity to take part in a bridge building workshop testing their design and engineering skills.
The students voted for their favourite projects for the People’s Choice Award where Invicta’s Michelle and Anna in 8T impressed with their fascinating Hot Ice experiment.
Winning the first ever Primary School Science Fair Best in Trust was Leybourne Chase with their solar powered phone charger.
I am pleased to announce that Invicta has held onto its winning streak by bringing home the Best in Trust trophy for the second year in a row. Evie in 8V took home the prize with her project investigating the impact electromagnets on plant growth.
The projects this year were fantastic and a huge congratulations to all the students involved.
