Football Update - U13 and U15 Matches
Mr Homes sent this report:
Under 13 - On Wednesday, 11 October, Invicta U13s took on Fulston Manner in their first ever match as a team. Despite initial worries about how they would link up, those questions were quickly answered as Invicta took a 3-0 lead within 10 minutes through goals from Chiddi, Onyi and Bella. Looking like a team who had played a whole season together, with great passing and movement, they took an empathic 6-0 lead at half time, through more goals from the before mentioned front three.
In the second half, the team swapped around a lot knowing there was some room for experimentation, this gave every player time to shine in their preferred position and a chance to show what each of them could do. In the end, the girls took home an incredible 8-2 win, preparing themselves for the next round of the Alessia Russo Trophy.
Under 15 - On Thursday, 12 October, Invicta Under 15s took on Rainham School in the second round of the Kent cup. They had an incredibly strong first half, especially in defence where they only conceded one chance. Rosie was in inspired form, scoring a wonder goal early on, and for the rest of the half the team defended valiantly.
For the second half they just needed to focus on more of the same since they performed so well in the first half. Rainham came into the second half with a lot energy, playing incredibly well, forcing Kate in goal to make a few incredible saves. After some great defending and great chance creation in midfield, a chance came to Jas who capitalised on an error at the back to put Invicta 2-0 up with 10 minutes to go. This goal helped calm the team who were happy to see the rest of the game out and keep their first clean sheet of the competition.
