On Friday last week, our students were surprised to find a selection of gift wrapped books around the school, with a label that invited the girls to take the book, read it and then pass it on to another student.
On Friday last week, our students were surprised to find a selection of gift wrapped books around the school, with a label that invited the girls to take the book, read it and then pass it on to another student. This was a superb initiative by the English department, to encourage a ‘love of reading’ and also to celebrate ‘Kindness Day’. It was truly a very thoughtful and generous act by our staff. This, along with the fact Hannah in Year 9 did a magnificent job with our 2 Minute Silence to commemorate Remembrance Day on Friday morning reinforced my views that we are a thoughtful school. Although a very sombre moment, it was wonderful that the whole school can fall silent in this way and it was most moving. I really do believe that it is events like this that make Invicta such a special place to be.
