This week, I was delighted to receive a beautiful handmade card from a student to thank me for organising financial support for her to go on a trip. Not only, was I thrilled to know that she had taken the time to make the card by hand, but I was really touched by the words she had written. It was extremely thoughtful and says a great deal about our students. Then, at a Student Voice meeting on Friday, we discussed the ways in which girls across all year groups help one another; we explored ideas for further developing the ‘feel good factor’ that you get from familiarity, smiles, and genuine ‘care’. I heard so many uplifting stories whereby students have supported their peers – everything from finding their way around school, helping them with a particular subject to assisting them when they have struggled with their journey on the buses or trains. This is one of the many aspects of ‘life’ at Invicta that make it a very special place to be.
So, this week, as we welcome prospective 6th Form students to the school, along with German Exchange students, I really do hope that they can sense the fantastic community spirit that we have at Invicta – one whereby our students do ‘root for each other and watch each other grow’! I shall look forward to being part of this very special process.
