2017 Fashion Design Trip, Italy - Blog Two
Day two was all about Fashion! The group headed into central Milan by train. On arriving at the famous Galleria the students then walked around the Fashion District of Via Montenapoloeone and Via Manzoni. From there they travelled by Metro to the Armani Silos. This is a superb exhibition of over a 1000 products created by the world famous Italian designer, Gorgio Armani. The exhibition was superb and the group were very inspired by all the extraordinary tailoring and outstanding evening wear on display. A truly impressive and memorable experience. From there the group returned to the centre of Milan and then back to the Fashion district for a tour of the world famous school of Fashion design, the Marangoni Fashion Institute. The students had a talk by the admissions tutor Yolande Lapore and they were then given a tour and taken to the roof viewing point. The roll call of global names in fashion who have studied or worked with the institute was exceptional.
Inspired and excited the group had all fallen in love with Milano by the end of the day. The style, the windows, the attention to detail was noticed by all.
The group returned by train to Busto to spend the evening with their hosts.
