Pride Month 2022
As a school, and a wider community, we constantly strive to provide a safe and inclusive setting for our students to feel valued and supported. This month has been Pride Month and to mark this celebration of this, our students put on a Pride event last Thursday at lunch. This event was a huge success, with music, craft activities, a cake sale and candy floor all on offer. There was such a lovely buzz of excitement and community seeing students from different Year groups support one another and raise money for The Trevor Project, a charity which provides counselling for young LGBTQ+ people in need.
Following this, a few of our TIDE – LGBTQ+ prefects have been leading assemblies this week to mark Pride Month as a whole. They spoke passionately about the landmark changes in law which have helped secure greater rights for this community and their fight for equality in all areas. As well as this, they gave tips on how we can all continue to educate ourselves further, support loved ones and be an ally, in and out of school.
I would like to thank LJ, Lucy and Finn for running such a successful series of events this year!
