FIGS Fair 2022
Mrs Howard sent this report:
On Saturday we once again enjoyed the annual FIGS Autumn Fair. Year 8 and 9 students worked on their entrepreneurial skills by creating their very own fair stalls. The ideas were wide-ranging, imaginative and hugely popular! Visitors could choose between a team water fight, glitter and henna tattoos, hook a duck, guess what’s in the box, whack the rat, guess the teacher from the baby photo, soak the teacher and many, many more.
Our parent teacher association, FIGS, did a fantastic job of serving refreshments and sweet-treats as well as the all-important uniform sale, raffle and tombola.
There was live music from the school bands, organised by Mrs Heaton, and a special dance performance form Stagecoach Bearsted. The weather was kind to us and, despite looming clouds, the rain held off until the very end which meant a speedy tidy up!
Fund-raising totals are still being totalled but we already know that in excess of £2,000 has been raised. We are also in the process of working out which stall raised the most and they will win a prize!
Well done and thank you to all involved. Looking forward to next year’s edition!
