Year 7 Football Tournament - 7-aside

On Thursday, 23 February Invicta played in a 7-aside tournament in which every student offered enthusiasm and effort.

The first game against SST finished 1-0 to Invicta after an unfortunate own goal after a well taken corner by Onyi in 7G. The defence performed valiantly throughout the game, stopping many counter attacks.

The second game was a tough one against Aylesford in which we started well after a wonder goal from Alessia in 7A. After a lot of great defending we were unfortunate to concede after a wonder goal of their own which no one could do anything about. The game ended at 1-1 which meant everything depended on the final result against Cornwallis.

It was another tight game with Invicta putting a lot of pressure on throughout, which paid of with some amazing link up play which led to Lilja in 7V putting the ball in the back of the net securing the win. A massive well done to all girls who took part, everyone played their part in a great afternoon of football. We look forward to the next round!
