Prefect Profile - Rachael, Bronte 2

Name: Rachael

Role: Deputy Head Prefect

Subjects Studied: Government and Politics, History and Economics

Favourite Book: After the Fire by Will Hill

Favourite Film: Let it Shine

Hobbies: Learning languages, reading and writing short stories.

Favourite Food: Indomie

Favourite Holiday destination: Seoul – I haven’t been yet but I’m excited to go in the future.

What is the most challenging thing you have achieved so far?

It may sound cliché to some but achieving this role would have to be the answer. I am someone who often feels self-conscious especially with public speaking, but I managed to complete the Hustings assemblies. I also get nervous when I’m asked unexpected questions or have to speak about myself so I was challenged by the interviews as well but I persevered and achieved the role of Deputy Head Prefect as a result.

Why did you want to become a Prefect?

I wanted to become a prefect because I knew I wanted to do something that would leave an impact on the school in my time at Invicta because Invicta is a new beginning for me. I also wanted to be a role model and a representative for the students so those who think they are just ordinary or unable to reach high positions know that it is possible and looking at me they can feel inspired to have high aspirations too.

What are your plans when you leave Invicta?

When I leave Invicta, I plan on studying Law at a Russell Group University because I aspire to be a solicitor at a magic circle law firm. More specifically I’d look to be a corporate solicitor and possibly qualify in Dispute Resolution.

And, finally, what special memories do you have of your time, so far, at Invicta?

Some special memories I have made at Invicta would have to be partaking in the Mock Bar Trial with the Law Hub because it was a great opportunity to practice life as a lawyer with like-minded people.

Another special memory I have is of the Team Building day at the beginning of the year. The laser tag was a lot of fun and it helped me to make a lot of good friends.
