Prefect Profile - Megan, Roddick 1
Name: Megan
Role: Senior Prefect
Subjects Studied: Maths, Biology and Chemistry
Favourite Book: There are wayyy too many to choose from but I’d probably say the best ones are Tuesdays with Morrie, Room with a View (it’s both a great book and film) and The Book of Eve
Favourite Film: Dirty Dancing or Room with a View – some of the basic classics!
Hobbies: Apart from reading, I really enjoy swimming, playing the saxophone and the odd bit of pottery and crochet.
Favourite Food: Either blueberries and grapes or any type of sweet that’s super sour!
Favourite Holiday destination: My all time favourite holiday was in the Dordogne. I got to do all my favourite things like cycling throughout the countryside, reading in the sun, canoeing through the Dordogne River and seeing old friends in rural France.
What is the most challenging thing you have achieved so far? To be completely honest applying to be a Prefect may have been one of the most challenging processes I’ve gone through so far just due to how new everything was. However, the most physically challenging was 100% Gold DofE – that was tough!
Why did you want to become a Prefect? Mainly, I became Prefect to inspire and encourage young people that are similar to me and to help them understand that what they put their mind to they can and will achieve it but I also wanted to become a Prefect to prove something to myself.
What are your plans when you leave Invicta? Go to university to study pharmacology or something that is heavy on Maths and Biology. I also plan to go with the flow as much as possible and take advantage of the opportunities available.
And, finally, what special memories do you have of your time, so far, at Invicta? Being at Invicta it automatically comes with many memories many of which are extremely embarrassing but all of my special ones involve people that are very special to me. One that I remember the most has to be in Year 11 when it was our last day in school before exams and we all had a tonnes of fun up at the field!
