Year 10 - Hong Kong Exchange
Shristi in 10V sent this report:
The week the Hong Kong exchange students came here was an extremely fun experience, we got to talk, exchange gifts and make new friends with each other. My partner, Rachel and I went to go explore London with a group of other friends who had exchange partners too (Hannah, Crystal, Kaavya and Emme). We all went around together visiting the famous landmarks, such as Big Ben and Tower Bridge, and using our teamwork skills, we had to escape the Butcher’s Lair in time before we were all dead meat…literally, we escaped with only 3 minutes left. We then explored the streets of London before spending a lot of money was on gifts and food for each other. There was so much to see that we may have lost track of time and got home pretty late…
I spent a lot of time together with my partner Rachel, with our afternoons mainly consisting of playing multiple rounds of UNO, taking walks around my local area, going shopping and, even, one night on the sofa watching Disney movies and enjoying some popcorn.
It felt very nice to spend time with Rachel after having spent so long communicating over the phone as an early part of the exchange programme. When they left on Friday, it just didn’t feel the same. We all got a chance to say our goodbyes, take lots of pictures together (including the x0.5 ones too) and hug one last time. We were all very upset as we watched them drive off for the final time...until Crystal realised she had Hannah’s coat!
I hope October comes by very soon so we can see them again. Thank you to Mr Hunt for arranging such an incredible experience for us all!
