Prefect Profile - Sathushana, Austen 2
Name: Sathushana
Role: Senior Prefect
Subjects Studied: Maths, Economics and Chemistry
Favourite Book: The one book that I can always go back to reading is Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly. An amazing book and movie!
Favourite Film: It would have to be between Kung Fu Panda or Venom. I’m up for any of the Marvel movies!
Hobbies: I love to keep myself busy so with me it’s either working, practicing the flute, playing cricket or volunteering. If I’m not doing any of that then the place, I’m most likely to be in is the Maidstone Library!
Favourite Food: The one place I can always count on to fill me up is Kokoro and my go to order has always been sweet chili chicken with rice. I also do love any food which has spice and flavors to it.
Favourite Holiday destination: I have always wanted to go to Tokyo. Everything in Tokyo just looks amazing but the first thing I’m going to have to try is the different food options they have at McDonalds. Not only that but apparently you can do street go-karting which I have to try.
What is the most challenging thing you have achieved so far? For me it was a tough application process for JP. Morgan’s work experience. The process and different interview stages I went through really opened my eyes to how competitive everything in the real world is. But I am thankful to even get through to the interviews after the stress of writing my application within the 24-hour opening!
Why did you want to become a Prefect? Everyone gets told that becoming a Prefect is the highest leadership role available within our school life. I always do love a challenge, and this was a personal challenge for me to see what I was capable of. Not only that but I struggled quite a bit in Year 7 to speak up for myself and talk to others and I wish I talked to the older years for guidance. I wanted to showcase that we’ve all been through different experiences within our secondary school life and the younger years can always ask us for advice.
What are your plans when you leave Invicta? After Invicta, my plan is to do a law conversion, first studying Economics and Management and then get a law degree afterwards. My aim is to not limit myself and when I get to university join as many clubs and societies and live my life with less stress.
And, finally, what special memories do you have of your time, so far, at Invicta? The first memories that come into mind were any of my classes during year 11, especially chemistry practical’s. Although it was very stressful with GCSE’s, Year 11 was the best year of my time at Invicta and the last day was one to remember.
