Year 7 Football Finals

On Thursday, 8 June, a team of incredible Year 7 students took to the field to play in the finals of the Maidstone Schools Football Tournament. Their first game of the evening was against Maplesdon Noakes. Despite a well-fought battle and a lot of excellent defending, they unfortunately lost the game.
At this point a lesser team might have given up, but not our girls who fought on every game and kept applying their absolute best in every match of the night. This attitude was reflected in their second game against Aylesford, where they bounced back to secure a draw after a few really powerful attacking maneuvers.
Their final game of the evening was a hotly contested match against MGGS which saw them lose out to a last-minute long-range strike.
Throughout the entire tournament the team really shone, especially in defence where they were very rarely broken down. A night to be proud of for all the girls for keeping a fighting spirit throughout the whole tournament and proving why they are in the top four teams in Maidstone.
A big thank you as well to all the staff who came to support, the girls would have loved seeing you there!
