Prefect Profile - Thea, Roddick 1

Name: Thea Hughes 

Role: Senior Prefect 

Subjects Studied: Classical Civilisation, English Literature, Art Textiles 

Favourite Book: The Golfinch by Donna Tartt, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley 

Favourite Film: The Grand Budapest Hotel 

Hobbies: Reading, writing, painting, baking, long walks in nature and historical sites. 

Favourite Food: Warm custard buns.

Favourite Holiday destination: Ephesus - Ancient Roman city in modern day Turkey.

What is the most challenging thing you have achieved so far?  

Learning to forgive myself for needing time to rest or taking longer to understand something. 

Why did you want to become a Prefect?  

To share my support and personal experiences with the student body to try and make education and safe learning spaces as accessible as possible for everyone. 

What are your plans when you leave Invicta? 

I hope to attend university to study the classical world further. 

And, finally, what special memories do you have of your time, so far, at Invicta?  

The bitter-sweet tears we all shared in the last weeks of Year 11 saying goodbye to our classes, signing shirts and the water fight on the field.
