Invicta Awards Evening 2023
Miss Williams sent this report:
On Wednesday, 28 June Invicta welcomed over 130 students and their families to our annual Awards evening. These students had been shortlisted from staff nominations in a range of categories celebrating the diverse achievements of our school community over the last year.
From charity events to progress in specific subjects, debating to drama, it was wonderful to hear more about the successes our students have had. On the evening, students were greeted with a drinks reception before having photos taken outside our balloon arch and on the red carpet. They made their way into the Hall to begin their evening celebrations.
Our first guest speaker was Megan Hale, an Invicta Alumni who is now the CEO and Co-Founder of Team Repair, a circular subscription programme teaching children science and technology through the skill of repair. Megan spoke inspirationally about the ‘pivot points’ in her life that have led her to this point in her career and left the guests with much to reflect upon.
Our second guest speaker was Jess Tappin, an athlete who has represented Team GB in the 400m hurdle and heptathlon. Jess spoke with humour, warmth and positivity about the sacrifices she has made, challenges she has overcome and the determination she has to achieve her goals. Many thanks to all the staff involved in the planning and running of the evening.
Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees, we look forward to next year!
