Sports Day 2023

Miss Abbott sent this message: 

Invicta’s Sports Day this year was like no other! With 3 hours of rain in the morning, the students absolutely loved getting involved in a whole school danceathon! With students and staff up on the stage showcasing their best moves! Luckily the rain did not dampen their spirits, and so many students said it was “the best sports day ever!”. Either side of the danceathon, students were still able to take part in their house bench ball competition inside the sports hall. This was a very exciting and loud (!) experience, but the students loved being competitive.  

Luckily the rain stopped and the sun decided to make an appearance for the afternoon. This meant that all the athletics activities could still go ahead as planned and brought back a more traditional sports day. The students were all very supportive of each other, motivating and cheering on their houses. There was a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day. We were also extremely lucky to have 2 GB athletes join us on the day. They completed a Q&A session during lunch and had their photos taken with the students on podiums. I think this made for a really special moment for the students who won their events.
