Power Day - Multicultural Festival 2024
Miss Day sent this report:
On Friday, 5 July the whole of Invicta took part in our final Power Day of the academic year, the Multicultural Festival. This was a fantastic event and students were able to showcase and celebrate the diversity of our school. The Multicultural Festival grows each year, and this year had over 400 students participating and running stalls/events. Students rotated through a variety of different activities throughout the day, all students were able to learn about different cultures and celebrations that take place within the varying cultures across the world. Due to the disappointing weather we had to move our cultural stalls inside but they certainly didn’t disappoint; there was such a variety of food which had been provided by students. I would like to thank parents for purchasing and making tasters of cultural dishes to share with students, there was so many different kinds of foods from rice dishes to truffles, it was truly amazing and inspiring to see the students sharing these foods and traditions with their peers.
In the Hall we had two main performances, firstly the Dance Show. Students had choreographed routines in a variety of different styles; Bollywood, Afrobeat’s, Nepali, K-pop and we had some new entries this year. The performances were absolutely phenomenal and was a real credit to both the participating students and the students in Year 12, who arranged the dancers, choreographed dances and rehearsed with students daily in the lead up to the day, a big thank you to those students for putting on a truly wonderful dance and fashion show! We also had the opportunity to hear the Gospel Choir sing, which is always a joy to hear. The students who were watching the performances behaved impeccably and were so supportive, clapping, cheering all performances. It was touching to see the support and enjoyment had by all students and staff at Invicta, a really lovely way to end the academic year.
Thank you once again to all the staff and students who helped to make the day so memorable and spectacular!
