This weekend, we have had a number of celebrations.
This weekend, we have had a number of celebrations – my wonderful PA, Mrs Owen, celebrated a special birthday and we have had a wedding in the family. This made me think that this week, we are actually celebrating the fact that we will be completing another academic year. I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone. I know that it is sometimes considered a cliché, but in talking to everyone around me, they have all said that this year has been an exceptionally busy, and quick academic year; as a result, it has flown by! I think that this is largely down to the fact that we always have so many activities throughout the course of our week, but it is also linked to how busy everyone has been with the new examination specifications and their associated demands. To everyone’s credit, our staff and students have embraced this as a challenge and immersed themselves into the new rigours that have been required. We will now, just wait with baited breath, until the 17 and 24 August for the results! Either way, we will be celebrating how hard everyone has worked and that we have all ‘tried our best’. This is all I ever ask for!
So, as the academic year draws to a close, I cannot think of any better way to celebrate, other than our Annual Production and our Assembly on the last day of term. I always thoroughly look forward to seeing the culmination of so much effort being shared by so many. I know how hard everyone has worked this year and I could not ask for more. On this note, I would like to thank all our students, staff and parents for their commitment to sharing our ethos of striving for ‘excellence’ and developing the ‘confidence’ to be successful - not necessarily today, but certainly in the future! Have a lovely holiday reflecting and refreshing for what I know will be another busy academic year! Let’s hope, however, that the holiday does not ‘fly by’ quite so quickly. Enjoy!
