This week, out theme is ‘Be True to Yourself - Be Honest’.
This week, out theme is ‘Be True to Yourself - Be Honest’. This is always an interesting concept in an all-girls school, because it is something that girls notoriously, are not good at. By this, I do not mean that they are dishonest; it is more a matter of accepting sometimes, that we all need help, or that we do get things wrong and this is absolutely fine. We can all learn from this. Our focus on Growth Mindset underpins exactly this, and as a result, we work hard with our girls to enable them to develop the confidence to accept that mistakes are good and we can turn this into a positive. We also try to reinforce the fact that we all need to accept that we are all different and as such, we must be ‘true to ourselves’ about our need to not follow others all the time – but, to take that leap of faith and be different. This may well be, how we think, how we act, but most importantly, how we study and learn.
I was thrilled last week to see so many of our students who have reaped the rewards for being ‘true to themselves’ and taking on board their own personal challenges. If you read last week’s newsletter, you will see so many activities whereby our girls have achieved in areas that have made them individual. I am particularly proud of our students’ achievements in so many areas of the school. However, I must use this opportunity to congratulate our Year 13 and Year 11 students for their wonderful Proms. It was lovely to see such individuality but also such a collaborative celebration. It makes our job very special!
