Barbados - Day Seven - Saturday, 21 October 2017
The morning began with a community tree planting project near the Scotland region of the island. We had a talk by the leader of the project; a restoration of land, where everything grown is organic. We learnt about the different types of plants, fruit and vegetables that are grown on the site, including coconuts and purple bananas! We then drove out on the truck, trees and tools in the boot, to get our hands dirty with some gardening. The girls planted all different trees (including banana trees!) and were assisted by two young helpers, Jayden and Aiden, who were 7 and 3 years old - very cute! The morning soon came to a hot and sweaty end, and then it was time to grab some well-earned lunch at Chefette.
Afterwards, we headed into Bridgetown for a spot of shopping. Once back at the hotel, we had some time to chill before going out for our second to last dinner of the trip (boo!) We decided to try somewhere different, and ended up in a restaurant called Shaker's Bar and Grill. Once again, the food was delicious; we even got to try flying fish, dolphin fish (nothing to do with actual dolphins!) and marlin fish - all very yummy!
