Invicta Vlogs
I have only two weeks of school left.
I have only two weeks of school left. My leaver’s hoodie arrived, and the reality dawned that, yes, I really am going to be leaving Invicta and starting a new journey.
Right now, I am putting the finishing touches on my Extended Project Qualification, which is due tomorrow. I have an offer from a good university to study a course I am really very excited about. But, I need to hit the marks demanded by their offer. So, I am rushing towards my A-Levels, and the study pressure is huge.
I am also learning to drive and, as soon as my exams are over, I am going to take my driving test and (hopefully) get behind the wheel. Also, on my list is learning to cook for myself. Oh, and I’ll need to start practising doing my own laundry.
As I hand over my prefect and deputy head girl duties to the new prefects, I realise that everything is changing.
Luckily, I have been prepared well. Invicta sets a high standard. It encourages you to be ambitious, but to recognise that there are no easy paths to success. I have had to work hard, and I have had to work intelligently. So have my friends and they have all done amazingly well. I am in awe of them.
I believe that our school gives you a great foundation to meet change, to rise to the pressure of big goals, and to find success. I also know that it is up to you to make the most of those opportunities.
I can hardly accept that my days of going to school are almost over, forever. As I step forward, I am grateful that Invicta demanded so much of me. I am glad that I have put in as much as I could, and I will take the lessons I’ve learned here, into my future.
Erin-Jane Roodt,
Deputy Head Girl
