Boss Blog October 2019

I am Lili McGuire and I am the Deputy Head of Marketing of the new Boss Enterprises Blog. Some of my other jobs include working with Sophie and giving input into social media, as well as working with Inspire and Interact to design material - including information to be relayed to other people within Invicta.

The aim of this blog will be to keep the Invicta community up to date on events we will be holding such as: Burns Night and a possible Golf Day, as well as documenting the outcomes of these. This blog will essentially be a collection of all of our fundraising efforts in aid of Ashray Charitable Trust and Therapy Partners.

The Boss team is not only compiled of the individuals being introduced now, but it also consists of other students ranging from Years 9 - 13, who work hard every Wednesday during our POP sessions. They help to complete a range of different tasks such as designing seasonal products to be sold at our events, along with helping to plan and organise these events. The team have briefly introduced themselves and their role in Boss below:

Ashling

I am Ashling and I am Head of Inspire. My role is to encourage the participation of Lower and Upper School students in events across the school - trying to integrate the younger students with the older students to promote a sense of togetherness. I am also in charge of organising events for primary school students, especially Year 5 and Year 6 students; to provide them with a real insight into what Invicta has to offer. I truly love being the Head of Inspire, as I have the opportunity to work with both primary school students and secondary students.

Astrid

As Head of Community Outreach, I am currently in the process of arranging the next Over 60s Club meeting; we hope to organise trips for the club, as well as visits involving primary students to establish links between generations.

Dom

My name is Dominic and I am Head of Interact at Boss Enterprises. I am currently developing some key ideas, such as a Golf Day, whilst I am also working on the Over 60s Club. I enjoy my role because it provides a rewarding feeling, as we put on events/clubs for the community, where all profits go to charity to help people locally and globally.

Katy

I am Katy and I am the Photographer and Videographer for all Boss Enterprises events. This involves me taking pictures and videos, both before and during the events, which allows us to document and present the hard work that goes into making them successful.

Filip

I am Filip and I am the Head of Retail for Boss Enterprises. My role is to oversee the selling of consumer goods through multiple channels of distribution, as well as come up with ideas for new seasonal goods that we can sell in order to raise money for a charities.  I applied to Boss Enterprises because I am an organised creative and driven individual who is passionate about raising money for charity furthermore, I have always wanted to work in a sales environment and use my confidence and good people skills for a good cause.

Molly

I am Molly and I am Head if Merchandising for Boss Enterprises. As part of my role, I oversee Hoody production for school trips. I am also in charge of coming up with ideas for seasonal products to sell around the school or at events to raise money for our charities.

Amber

I am Amber and I am Head of Young Chamber. I applied for this role as I have a passion for business and the Young Chamber’s aim to connect schools to businesses and young people. I help to plan and organise events with my fellow team members in order to raise money for charity.

Sophie

I am Sophie, and I am the Marketing Manager for Boss Enterprises. My role involves managing the social media and creating the advertising media for our events. It is an exciting role in which I get to write about everything that we do and create media that makes it appealing to our target audiences. I work closely with Katy and Lili to provide information and photos to send to Invicta News to celebrate our successful events.

Ayushma

As a Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer, my role involves helping the CEO to organise the team for the events that will take place. I also need to keep up to date with the financial conditions of the business, especially while organising events, so that we are able to make a considerable amount of money to donate to our chosen charities.

Jessie

I am Jessie, the Head of Corporate Events and I am in charge of presenting different ideas for our events and communicating with anyone outside of Boss Enterprises;  to assist with our events (such as IT and guests). I have recently been discussing ideas for the Invicta Talent Showcase with a team of people and we have devised ideas for the show itself and also for the decorations, which I then was able to put forward to the CEO and Deputy. I applied for this role because I am interested in the way a business is run and am passionate about working together in a team that puts all of their efforts into making the events as successful as possible, in order to raise money for charity and give back to the community.

We all hope that you are as excited about Boss Enterprises and the events we will be holding in the future as we are. This Blog will be the source of all Boss news and information, so be sure to keep updated.

Thank you!

Lili McGuire
