My Favourite Term
Term 6 is my favourite term of the academic year. It is when we start seeing the impact of what we put in place in September and when we are busy planning for another cycle of an academic year – term dates finalised, priorities identified and exciting plans shared and taking shape.
It is the time of the year that our Year 11 and 13 students showcase their hard work in the external examinations. I am proud of their commitment, determination and dedication in the way they meticulously prepare for their exams; I admire their stamina and resilience as many are sitting up to 25 papers with confident smiles. As the students are working hard in the exam rooms, we have been planning for their results day, as we wish to give them the best celebration that they deserve.
The summer term is also the season of transition and recruitment for new students. Whilst we are excitedly meeting our new students and their families at the welcome event, induction evening, individual meetings, visits to primary schools and the much anticipated summer school, we are opening our doors to Year 5 students and their families, who are embarking on the journey of transition to secondary schools. We recently met with a large group of Year 5 students and their parents who came to Invicta to ‘taste’ lessons. We were extremely impressed by the quality of work produced by students and parents; you were clearly a very dedicated and creative bunch!

The last term of the year is also when we have so much fun to look forward to – the School Production of ‘The Little Mermaid’, Sports Day, the Multicultural Day and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration. At the beginning of the year, we set out to strengthen our community through doing things together. We are certainly delivering on this pledge as we look forward to many opportunities to build the Invicta memories together over the next six weeks.
