Invicta Vlogs
I constantly think that Invicta is a special place and this week has been no exception!
On Sunday, we saw some of our staff get up at the crack of dawn to complete the London to Brighton ride in aid of the Royal Marsden – a charity close to our hearts in memory of a former student – Amanda Slann. I am thrilled that they not only completed the ride but also raised £1280 to date. What an amazing achievement! It was lovely to see Mrs Slann there to meet all our riders in Brighton. It made the trials and tribulations of all the hills and achey joints well worth it. This, along with Mrs Stafford’s Ice Bucket challenge which raised £250 for MS, just highlights what an enterprising family of staff and students we are. Keep up the great work – I am confident we will exceed the £30,161 we raised in the last school year, if this week is anything to go by.
Not only have we raised this fantastic sum of money in our first week, but we have also welcomed new Year 7 and 12 in a curriculum evening. It was lovely to see so many parents to share our plans for the forthcoming year. The start of term is truly an exciting time. However, I do think the fact that we have just said ‘Good Luck and Happy Travels’ to Mrs Brewster and 3 of our World School students who flew off to Russia on Sunday is probably the most exciting part of the week. What an amazing experience lies ahead of them. My delight this week however, has to be sharing the smiles and delight of meeting 7T who were so enthusiastic about their first few days at Invicta. It really does make me very proud.
