Year 7 Planetarium Visit
Jasmine in 7I sent this report:
I really enjoyed the Planetarium visit as it was wonderful to have the opportunity to learn lots of fascinating things about space and to experience what being in and exploring space would be like.
As part of the visit, we got to go inside an actual hemisphere with a projector casting lights everywhere which made it even more intriguing to look at. Seeing all of the vibrant colours was a great experience and really brought to life a lot of things we have studied in lessons.
I was also really surprised by how the person leading our session had a huge collection of patches from the astronauts, with unique stamps from each mission, and even rock samples that contained uranium and titanium.
The best part however, was the rock sample he had from Mars. I hope it gets taken into testing so we can see if the materials in it are actually sustainable for life on Mars in the future.
It was a great day and we’d like to thank Mr Rzepka and the Science Department for organising it.
