Primary Headteachers Afternoon Tea
Miss Williams sent this report:
On Tuesday, 11 October 46 primary school headteachers and teaching staff came to Invicta to visit Year 7 students who they used to teach. Invicta students welcomed their teachers with big smiles and were really excited to tell them about all the things they have been doing during the Year 7 ‘Welcome Month’, from finding their way around the school site to building balloon towers during ‘Team Building’.
Initially, students spent some time showing the teachers their books and talking about the work they have been doing so far this term in the different subjects. Next they sat down for a catch up with a delicious afternoon tea of scones, cakes and drinks. Finally, our students gave their teachers a tour of the school to show them various classrooms and explain what a typical day is like at Invicta. All other Year 7 students were then invited to come to the hall at the end of the day to see their teachers. The afternoon had a lovely buzz and feedback from the teachers who attended was overwhelmingly positive about how brilliant the students were throughout the event!
Misty in 7I had this to say about the day:
Our afternoon tea with our primary school teachers was a time for us to really show off our knowledge and have a chance to show them what Invicta life is like. After a warm welcome we had time to show them all our books then tour them around the school and sit down with them and talk about how it was going with some very nice treats. Unfortunately, some people weren’t able to attend as not everyone would fit into the hall but if their school attended they were still able to show their books with them either after school or through Classmate. We really appreciate the work that was put in to organise this event.
