RAG Week Coming Soon...
Amelie in Curie 1 sent this report:
Thursday, 24 November marked the start of Invicta’s annual RAG activities, with a non-uniform day raising money for this year’s five local charities; Oasis, Books2Africa, Maidstone Mencap, Therapy Partners and Jack the Lad.
Oasis supports people affected by domestic abuse in the Kent and Medway area, by providing recovery sessions and safe accommodation. Books2Africa provides second hand resources to areas throughout Africa, aiming to improve children’s quality of education whilst recycling at the same time. Maidstone Mencap offers support to young people with learning disabilities, empowering them to achieve their full potential through professional sessions. Therapy Partners are a team of fully accredited professionals that offer counselling to all types of people in the Maidstone area, with fast and high quality access. Jack the Lad aims to better regulate overseas holidays for young people, in honour of Jack Howe from Kings Hill, who died on holiday in Greece in 2019 during a quadbike accident.
These charities were carefully selected by the Senior Prefect Team, and we hope to raise as much money for them as possible over the coming weeks. Even before the official start of RAG week on 9 December, students that donated by wearing their own clothes on Thursday have managed to raise an amazing £2643.00 for these RAG charities.
This will be added to during our upcoming RAG week events, including Last Man Standing, Stars in their Eyes, Soccer Aid, and dress up days. Thank you to everyone who participated, and we hope to see much more of this generosity as RAG week fast approaches!
