Year 11 Poetry Live

On Friday, 25 November, 25 students visited the Dominion Theatre in London to experience a live poetry reading from current and previous Poet Laureates Simon Armitage and Carol Ann Duffy as well some other brilliant poets from the GCSE anthology such as John Agard, Imtiaz Dharker and Grace Nichols!

It was an amazing day spent understanding deeper meanings behind each poem, being able to ask the poets themselves questions and receiving extremely useful advice from the Chief Examiner of AQA GCSE English Literature! Thank you to Mrs Bird and Mr Macdonald for taking us to see it.
