Secondary Maths Challenge
Dr Millgate sent this report:
On Tuesday, 8 teams of Year 10 and 11 students from across Kent, gathered at the School of Science and Technology for the first heat of the Invicta Grammar School Secondary Maths Challenge. They battled it out over four rounds to try and gain a place in the top 3 to reach the final in March. The rounds covered mathematical puzzles, problem solving and finished with a team relay race against the clock.
Congratulations to Oakwood Park Grammar School who won the round with a very impressive 141 out of 152 and also to Tonbridge Grammar School and King’s School in Canterbury for making it through to the final. The Invicta team performed admirably, scoring particularly well in the puzzles round, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to progress to the final. Well done to all of the teams that took part.
