House and Charity Update
Mrs Le Sbirel sent this report:
House system
Welcome to the new academic year. Invicta has 8 Houses, each led by a member of staff (Head of House) and a Year 3 House Prefect. Each form elects a House representative to help organise and promote House events and competitions. Each House has a colour, a mascot and a House charity. Students wear a House badge to indicate which House they belong to. This is part of the uniform and must be worn on the left lapel (Years 7-11) or on the lanyard (Sixth Form).
Houses run competitions and fund-raising events to raise money for their chosen charity throughout the year. The 8 Houses compete for three House Shields, and I am delighted to report that last year’s winners were Roddick (House Charity shield), Pankhurst (House Rewards shield) and Nightingale the House Sports shield.
This table shows the outline of the 8 Houses and the charities they currently support.

Charity
Invicta students love to raise money for charity and last year we raised over £28,000, a fantastic achievement. Thank you to everyone who organised or took part in a charity event, this money really makes a difference to people’s lives. In addition to the House charities, the Sixth Form students select a number of local charities who will benefit from the RAG fundraising activities that take place during RAG week in December – more details will follow from Mrs Skelton (Head of Sixth Form).
If you would like to organise a charity event for your year charity, House charity or any other particular charity please ask your form charity representative to contact Mrs Le Sbirel with the details.
Macmillan Coffee Morning – Friday, 22 September
I am delighted to announce that the first fundraising event of the year will be the Macmillan Coffee Morning which will take place on Friday, 22 September. More details will follow soon! Please remember that we do not accept any cash payments, participation in non-uniform days must be purchased in advance using MyEvolve. We have been supporting this charity for many years and the total raised so far is in excess of £13,000. How much will we raise this year?
