Our staff take on Snowdon!
This weekend, a team of Invicta Grammar School staff will brave the cold and the wet weather of a Welsh autumn as they summit Mount Snowdon. Splitting off into two teams, we will each tackle a different path in a (definitely not at all competitative) climb to the top.
One team, led by Miss Abbott and Mr Shingleton, will take on the Miner’s Track, known for its beautiful scenery and lake walk but ending in a ferocious incline near the summit. Meanwhile, the second team, captained by Dr Marchesini and Mrs Scorer, will take on the ever-challenging Watkins Path past waterfalls, steep cliff faces and, at times, near vertical drops. Both groups will be pushed hard throughout their routes but are aiming to complete their circular routes in a little over six hours each.
On top of the physical challenge we face, we have also challenged ourselves to raise money for the East Kent Hospitals Trust in memory of our colleague Dave Hancock who we sadly lost over the summer break.
If you feel you can support us in raising money for a charity chosen by his family, please donate using the link here. Any amount is gratefully received.
The team are:
(front row L-R) Miss Palmer, Mrs Finlay, Dr Marchesini, Miss Zubair, Mr Tillbrook, Mr Gavin,
(back row L-R) Mrs Scorer, Mrs Dufton, Mr Shingleton, Miss Abbott, Mr Waters and Mr Holmes.
Thank you and wish us luck!
