Staff Profile - Miss Dale
Name: Miss C Dale
Role: Psychology Mentor
Subject: Psychology
Favourite Book: To claim that I have one favourite book is a bold statement. Recently I have loved books that are do with Greek mythology; Circe by Madeline Miller, has been one of my current favourites. I also, love the classics such as Hunger Games, Harry Potter and Divergent (they never get old!). Basically, anything with fantasy in, send my way.
Favourite Film: Once again hard to answer! I have been a Disney fanatic since I was a child. Mulan must be one of my favourite Disney films along with Brave, they are so nostalgic. But if you want a hard-hitting film that changes your perspective on everything, it must be Interstellar, I can’t fault it, apart from having no clue what just happened in the last 3 hours.
Hobbies: Reading has been a passion of mine since I was young, nothing like a good book in which you can lose yourself in. My favourite hobbies are skiing and snowboarding, unfortunately I don’t live in a place with constant snow so this isn’t a regular hobby, but something that I cherish whenever I get the chance to go.
Favourite Food: Steak and chips, undeniably the best food. Shame it’s expensive, otherwise I would have it every night for dinner!
Favourite Holiday destination: The Alpes, France
If you did not work in a school, what job would you like to do? Ski Instructor
What is the most challenging thing you have achieved? I completed ‘The Swiss Wall’, one of the top ten hardest ski runs in the world. I was 10 years old when I did this, but it showed me I can do anything if I put my mind to it. This black run has now become an annual run for me, I love the constant challenge as its never the same every year, an icy run is not as fun as a powdered run!
Why did you decide to work in education? I have always appreciated and admired the role of a teacher, someone who can shape a student and bring fundamental changes to their future. Therefore, I thought why not go back to place which changed so much for me and allowed me to prosper at Loughborough University.
How have you found your first term at Invicta? As someone who loved Invicta as a student, I have loved it even more from the role as a mentor. Invicta is a welcoming and enjoyable place to work, which has both friendly staff and students.
