Netball Match Reports - Year 7 and 8 IGS vs SVS
Miss Worsfold sent this report:
On Wednesday, 17 January the Invicta Year 7 and 8 A and B Netball teams took on Sutton Valence School in a four game thriller. The girls went into their matches filled with excitement and nerves as they were facing a school who regularly play in the Kent schools championships and normally does very well. Nevertheless the students all went out there with a positive attitude and a point to prove and just that they did. The 8A team recovered from 1-5 down to win a staggering 12-6 by the end of the 4x10 minute quarters, with Amelie in 8V being selected by the opposition as player of the match for her great dodging and passing throughout the match. The 8B team played with heart and passion throughout the match but unfortunately ended up losing 2-8, however this is two more goals more than they managed to score when they played against MGGS so this is a great improvement to see.
Both Year 7 teams produced fine wins with the 7As storming into the lead and dominating the game throughout with some great defence and shooting and resulted in a convincing 17-3 win. For the 7Bs it was a tight affair with the score 2-2 at half time there was nothing in it. However after a great half time team talk this spurred the team on to keep working hard and help one another. This boost of motivation resulted in a great 9-2 win, to be able to score so many in the second half and not let the opposition score any was a great achievement. All the students played incredibly well despite the cold conditions and appeared to be enjoying themselves throughout. They are all looking forward to their next matches where they can continue to build and win as a team. Well done to all students on these great results and excellent effort, their names can be found below. I would like to also thank Amelia in 11I and Abbie in 11A who umpired and scored two of these matches superbly.
