Kent Schools Swimming Championships

On Saturday, 13 January, 13 students from Invicta travelled to Margate to compete in the Kent Schools Swimming Championships. There were some fantastic swims and great personal bests achieved and lots of placings.
In the first session, Paige in 8T came 5th and Rose in 8A came 8th in the Y7/8 100m butterfly, Lyanna in 11C came 6th in the Y11-13 100m butterfly and Derin in 10I came 11th in the Y9/10 100m butterfly. Kate, 7T, and Amelie, 7N, swam well in a very competitive Y7/8 100m backstroke, with Lyanna placing 4th in the Y11-13 100m backstroke and Sasha, 9A, placing 8th in the Y9/10 100m backstroke.
In the second session, Paige secured another medal with 6th place in the Y7/8 100m Freestyle, with Rosa placing 8th in the same event. Gabby in 9A and Yananai in 9A placed well in a competitive Y9/10 100m Freestyle event. In the 100m Breaststroke, Halle, 7C, and PK in 8A swam really well in a challenging Y7/8 event, and in the Y9/10 event, Sasha placed 6th and Claudia in 9A placed 9th.
In the final event of the afternoon, Elizabeth, 7I, made a brave debut for the Invicta team in the 200m Individual Medley with Claudia also swimming well in a tough and stamina-testing event.
