Invicta Vlogs
We have now been back at school for a whole week...
We have now been back at school for a whole week – in that time, we have welcomed our new Year 7 and 12 students, inducted new staff and got to grips with our new timetables. We have done lots of other things too, but there are clearly too many to even list! However, reflecting upon the week, it occurred to me that we have already spent a considerable amount of time at school - in just that one week. I always tell prospective parents and girls that at times, our students will spend more time at Invicta than they do at home, so they do need to like where they study. Likewise, I strongly feel that as adults we clearly spend most of our waking lives at work/school, so it is important that we do what we love what we do. I have been extremely impressed by the number of smiles and happy faces I have seen throughout the course of the last week. I hope that this is indicative of the fact that our newcomers feel comfortable in their new environment. I want everyone to be excited about their work/study.
There is no doubt that doing what you love keeps you positive during more difficult times; it helps you tackle challenges head on. This week, our theme for the week is ‘Perseverance’ with an emphasis on the ways in which we can identify barriers and overcome them. I personally believe that one of the key aspects of this challenge is to enjoy what you do. So, I will ask our girls this week ‘Do you love what you do?’ It certainly is something I strive for, for all our students and staff.
