Invicta Vlogs
One week into the New Year at school and so much is happening already.
One week into the New Year at school and so much is happening already. Year 11 and 13 dived straight in with mock examinations to prepare them for the summer, our teachers running the Headcorn Half Marathon are back into training and Politics and French students in Year 13 attended the FerMUN Conference in Geneva.
As the theme of the week is Politics and Economics, the purpose of the model UN conference is particularly significant. It brings together students to debate issues facing UN countries and a proposal put forward by our Invicta delegates is going to be put forward to the official United Nations. The girls attending the conference thoroughly enjoyed the unique experience and noted the importance of unity between countries, especially at a time of global political tension.
With Trump’s statements regarding Haiti, El Salvador and African countries and the publication of ‘Fire and Fury’ attacking Trump’s administration, it seems unity between countries is particularity important.
Although we do not know what the week ahead will bring for us politically or economically, one thing we do know is that Invicta will be hosting a Piano Soirée on Wednesday and we look forward to the performances by some of our talented students. Perhaps this is a way of switching off from the trials and tribulations of the political world we live in – just for the evening!
