My first term as Head Girl
Speechless would be an understatement. "And our new Head Girl will be...Francesca!" were not words that I expected to hear due to such ambition from all candidates for the role. I would be lying if I said that a few tears rolled off my face, when in actual fact, there were floods! Special thanks to the previous Head Girl for all her help and tips!
My first term in my new position has felt like a whirlwind! It been extremely busy, with so many events to attend, meetings to arrange, and general settling as part of the newly elected Senior Prefect Team. This is one of the first chances I have had to reflect, and I cannot be prouder of how well we have all worked already.
Perhaps, one of my favourite events so far (Yes - Just in this term!) was the Awards Evening. The set up was absolutely stunning, and the awards seemed to have no end. It just shows how much talent there is at Invicta, especially outside of studies, and it makes me feel proud to be a part of such a fantastic community. Speakers Katie Andrews and Lina Nielson were both very inspiring, coming from such interesting backgrounds, and hearing their stories was so interesting. It was a lovely event to see everyone dressed up, and the beautiful weather we have at the moment, was the cherry on the cake!
11+ Open Mornings and Afternoons, as well as Taster Sessions have been well underway this term, in preparation for the Kent Test and transition for our new cohorts in the next academic year. Lots of excited Year 5 students have been welcomed into the school, and they are now feeling more prepared for these in September.
I look forward to drawing this year to a close, especially with my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Expedition for the final week of term. I am excited to embark on this academic year, and see what challenges I face, how I overcome them, and to become a friendly, familiar face for younger years!
