Invicta Vlogs
20 May 2019
At this time of the year, the Transition Programme for our new Year 7's is well underway. I am in the really fortunate position to be able to visit our new students in their primary schools and meet Year 6 teachers as well. I find these visits incredibly rewarding because it gives our new students the opportunity to ask us lots of questions, to tell me what they are excited about and to also ask me about any questions or concerns they have. In addition to staff visiting the students, as part of our programme, we also take former students from that primary school to visit as well. This is a wonderful opportunity for the Year 6's to see a familiar, friendly face and to really find out what it is like to be an Invicta student. Our girls are able to show how organised they are with their planners, demonstrate the iPad and also explain the cashless card system we have at lunchtimes. They are also incredibly helpful with talking to the new students about how they travel to school, which is really useful for the new students to hear, as this is one of their biggest concerns. For our Invicta students, they really enjoy going back to their primary school to see their teachers and experience how different it feels to be back at primary school! It is wonderful to see how happy their primary teachers are when they visit and they seem so grown up in their Invicta uniform. Having visited lots of our new students, I am really looking forward to seeing them all again at the New Entrants' Evening on Wednesday 12 June as they get closer and closer tobeing an Invicta student.
