Invicta Vlogs
My Last Blog at Invicta!
As my time at Invicta draws to a close, I take this time to reflect on the last 7 years, and what I have learnt. My Invicta journey has been the starting point for my future, and I think that it has prepared me well for what is to come! I would like to use this opportunity to pass on advice that I have gained.
Take Every Opportunity – Even if you are not sure at first, step out of your comfort zone and try something new; be it debating or an extra-curricular activity, it is almost inevitable you will enjoy it, and certainly will not regret it. They will help you to find your passions, which may help to steer your future and find a job you enjoy – almost to the point you do not even feel like you are working!
Work Hard – This one may seem obvious, but you only get one chance at school, so make the most of your peer and teacher knowledge. Chase the results that you all deserve. Whatever you end up undertaking as a career, you will always be proud of the results you achieve, so make the most of the help you can get at school, because it will always be useful in the future.
Be bold, be brave, be happy – This is a phrase that I love to live by, and I think all three aspects are so important. Being bold will help us to have the courage to try new things and discover new passions. Being brave, as stated before, encourages us to step out of our comfort zones, and in doing so, we can make new friends who have similar interests and take these interests further. Finally, being happy! Of course, we all have days where nothing goes the way we want it to, but I always remind myself to reflect on how lucky I am to have had an excellent education and people around to support me through difficult times. This always makes me smile.
I have made so many memories at Invicta and I have learnt things which will help me in the future, even if I have not realised it yet! It has been an absolute pleasure to lead the student body for the past year. My time as Head Girl has been unforgettable, working alongside the most incredible Senior Prefect Team. I really feel we have made a difference within the school community. I will be sad to leave the position and Invicta, but I know that Lizzie, your new Head Girl will do an amazing job – you are all in safe hands. Thank you, Invicta Students, for making me smile every day, by making Invicta the best place to be!
