Invicta Vlogs
Last week, we hosted our 16+ Open Evening.
Last week, we hosted our 16+ Open Evening. As always, this is a lovely opportunity to ‘show case’ our school to visitors – our very important Year 11, along with students and parents from other local schools. As part of our preparation for the event, I tour the whole school. I always get such a burst of pride as I move from room to room, to view the displays, activities and talk to students and staff. Equally, towards the end of the evening, I really enjoy talking to our students and prospective new students about the exciting prospect of which A Levels to select and possible career choices.
On a similar vein, we hosted a Year 5 Familiarisation Workshop on Saturday morning. Some might consider this an inconvenience to go to work on a Saturday – I do not! I love the opportunity to chat to parents and prospective students about their ambition to study at a grammar school. To see the initial concerns of the girls, when they first enter the school, evaporate once they have worked with our students and staff is lovely.
I also really enjoy the opportunity to accompany guests around the school, to drop in and out of lessons, as well as observing student presentations or performances. I am indeed, very lucky to have a job where I experience so many different aspects of school life and most importantly, get to talk to so many different people. So, it is with great delight that I look forward to sharing further opportunities this week at our Memory Workshop, the forthcoming Autumn Concert, our FIGS Annual General Meeting, the 16+ Open Morning and our annual Business Lunch. I know that not only will I enjoy finding out new things from my conversations with others, but that our guests will enjoy ‘getting to know’ Invicta even more. We ae indeed very proud of our school and even more delighted to share it with our community.
