World Cup Reading Challenge
Mr Tillbrook sent this report:
Running alongside the tournament in Qatar, our World Cup Reading Challenge asked staff and students to “read around the world” in order to discover more about the countries that were competing in the World Cup 2022.
Moving through the various rounds, students selected their extracts from a folder full of authors and ideas native to each country. Points were awarded for each extract that students read and discussed with bonus points being given out whenever their chosen countries succeeded in continuing to the next round of the actual World Cup.
We were throughly impressed with the number of entries we received and prizes were awarded to some of the top readers in each year group.
