Junior Debating

On Monday, 6 February, I had the privilege to chair the Junior Debating Competition for Lower School.

Each team performed wonderfully, considering the widest possible scope of their motions and effectively picking apart their opposition’s arguments. 

The first rounds were gruelling, with the third debate being especially close. It was refreshing to see both case studies with an emotional flair and data be used to justify arguments.

The audience participation was of exemplary quality, and the consistent enthusiasm displayed by all debaters, regardless of whether they were competing in that round, was wonderful.

Well done to the winners, and thank you to Dr Millgate and Miss Reeves for judging the competition.
