Year 8 Activity Week
Miss Puttock sent this report:
Year 8 Activity Week took place during the penultimate week of Term 6. This week was organised to reward the hard work that students have displayed throughout KS3.
On Monday, students had a fun day visiting Chessington World of Adventures. Year 8s enjoyed spent the day riding rollercoasters and other thrilling attractions. A firm favourite was the new Jumanji section. The next two days the year group was split, with each half having the opportunity to visit GoApe at Leeds Castle on one day and spending the day in school completing various fun activities on the other. GoApe was a great opportunity to test their adventurous sides. The zip line finish was definitely the highlight of the day! When in school, year 8 had the chance to take part in a quiz, get active to JustDance and challenge their friends to numerous different board games.
On Thursday, the whole year group visited Port Lympne Wildlife Park. Students had the chance to explore the zoo, as well take part in an hour-long safari where they had the chance to see giraffes, zebras and many other exciting animals. The slower pace this day was appreciated and students enjoyed exploring the park with their friends.
We finished the action-packed week back in school with a visit from The Problem Solving Company. Competing in forms, the girls took part in 8 different challenges to test their problem-solving abilities. Although they were tired after a very long week, the students thoroughly enjoyed the activities. A massive well done to 8V who won the competition.
It was a great opportunity for team building and we hope Year 8 enjoyed their week of fun. A massive thank you to all the staff who helped support the week.
