Our staff reach peak performance on Snowdon
On Saturday, 23 September our staff successfully completed their fundraising challenge to summit Mt.Snowdon. With pristine weather and a wonderful navigator in the form of Dr “Mountain Goat” Marchesini, the group opted to all take on the more challenging Watkins Path. Known for its steep ascent (over 1000 metres) and stomach dropping scramble sections, the route certainly had its challenges but our staff completed it with ease in a little over three and a half hours. Descending via the Rhyd Ddu Path proved an altogether calmer affair though one still with its innate risks. The views throughout were spectacular.
On the Sunday, some of our staff took on the Zipworld Quarry, topping out at speeds of 100mph on the longer, lakeside zipline. Braving both the height and blistering rain was no simple task but an incredible time was had by all who took part in it. We would all like to say a huge thank to Miss Abbott, Miss Finlay, Mrs Scorer and Mr Shingleton for all of the driving (over 20 hours in total), Dr Marchesini (for never getting us lost) and, of course, to everyone who has been kind enough to donate to help raise money for the East Kent Hospitals Trust.
