Year 11 go to the Globe!
Lizzie in 11N sent this report:
On Thursday, 21 September, 60 Year 11 students went on a trip to The Globe Theatre to see ‘Macbeth’. After getting off the coach, we finally arrived at the Globe after a short walk in the rain. We then took lots of photos during the lightning storm – there was thunder too! Very fitting for a production of ‘Macbeth’! Shortly after this, we entered The Globe after queuing for a bit and managed to get front row spaces right by the stage. The play was very good, with an interesting set as the actors come into the audience to stand on blocks and walked through us to get on and off stage.
The actors even interacted with some of our students and teachers during the First Act. One actor ran like an animal towards an audience member resulting in many people screaming and later some people got splashed with water during Lady Macbeth’s hand-washing scene. The Second Act included a very interesting scene in which the witches blended ‘pieces of a human’ in a blender, with the liquid changing colour for them to drink as their potion. Overall, it was a very fun trip and although we were standing, wet and cold from the rain for 3 hours, I would definitely go to see it again.
