Last week, our Year 11 and 12 students started their external examinations in earnest. On Friday too, our Year 13 had their final day at Invicta, as they also, embarked upon their Study Leave. These days are always a mix of emotions. We are undoubtedly sad to say, ‘good bye’ to our Year 13, but it is also a great opportunity to ‘thank them’ for all their hard work, and for being such a wonderful year group, as we reminisce about their 7- year journey at Invicta. To see the photos of them when they were all only Year 7 and now reflect on their maturity, personality and achievements is a true credit to the students themselves, their parents and our teaching staff. So, although sadness does feature, our feelings are one of pride and excitement, for what our wonderfully talented students will now go on to do. There is no doubt that there is an element of trepidation as we think about the demands of the external examinations, but we have brought up our students to ‘be the best they can be’ and to understand the importance of being proactive, resilient and flexible. These qualities will, I am sure, help them through the next phase of their journey – the trials and tribulations of examinations will be tough, but I am sure that they will ‘dig deep’ and find strength from their experiences at Invicta to help them through. I wish them the very best of luck and shall look forward to seeing them all open their envelopes in August! So, our sadness at saying ‘good bye’ is clearly a little premature – we will thankfully see all our students again on Results Day!
