Every individual matters. Every individual makes a difference!
As we return after our Half Term holiday and embark upon the second phase of our exam season, the needs of every individual become even more paramount. We are a school of nearly 1400 students and over 100 staff and individuality is one of our core values. Focusing on each and every individual must be our ambition in order to ensure that everyone plays their role with confidence, clarity of expectation, enjoyment and fulfilment; ultimately for our students, to attain to the best of their ability! Every individual makes a difference.
I wanted to share with you one aspect of how we focus on the individual needs at Invicta, specifically involving Year 7 and then in contrast, Year 11. Year 7 are very soon to complete their first year, whereas Year 11 have just a few weeks remaining before they move into the Sixth Form. This is certainly a neat juxtaposition.
For Year 7, they are about to embark upon their very first formal examinations, whilst Year 11 are in the process of completing their final weeks of GCSE examinations. There is no doubt that for both of these year groups, that the need to provide individual tuition, support and feedback in order to prepare them for their individual challenges has been significant in enabling students to feel confident, happy and prepared for the trials ahead of them.
Over the last year, I have seen teachers and students work both inside and outside of the classroom to encourage our girls to secure their understanding and learning. However, the one underlying feature of this is that the individual progress of students is what counts every single day. Every individual matters – it is our joint ability to identify, intervene, track and monitor impact upon each individual that has helped students make even more progress. Our students are on a journey; not at the start, definitely not at the end and it is certainly an exciting journey full of ups and downs! We do set our aspirations high, but one thing I do know is that we will do everything we can to ensure that all students know that they matter and that we are on their journey together. Every individual has a role to play and that every individual makes a difference. That is why, when girls ask for help, they get it; when girls seek clarification, they find out what they need and when girls just want to be told that they will get there, they know that we will get their together! So, as we embark upon our final term of the academic year, I thank each and every student, member of staff and parent for their undeniable commitment and dedication to our core value of individuality! Good luck to each and every one of our girls in their quest for their own individual aspirations.
